Your private LivTours guide will now take you to join one of the Colosseum’s on site archeologists and a group of maximum 25 people. This tour will give you access to the two restricted areas of the Colosseum. Please note that local archaeologists who will be guiding you through the restricted areas are appointed by the Colosseum administration. In the event that English speaking archaeologists are overbooked, they will assign an Italian or other foreign language guide to lead the tour. If this happens, LivTours Tours will, out of courtesy, hire your original English speaking guide at no extra cost for minimal and respectful translation services. This portion of the tour has a duration of 40 minutes.

At this time, the colosseum currently guarantees special access to the arena floor which is off-limits to the general public. The arena area is where the gladiator fights took place and also gives you the closest view of the underground area possible. Your guide will inform you of the most up to the minute regulations at the beginning of the tour.
